Metal candle holder, silver serving spoons, tea, and sugar pot Charlie 4and i came across at the sunday market. When we got home being a cold sunday in winter. We just had to have apple and rubarb crumble. To try out our new finds. Oh Charlie also wants to mention his batman he brought home.another market find. :-)

Lifes a dance

Grand Find

I m so excited .For the last 2 days Ive been driving past a couch, hardwood and sprung, You know they way they used to be made .It was on the side of the road .Each time I drove past, it would say to me, come on take me home and fix me up ,you know you want too: Well I did .so I get to give it the love it deserves and make it all lovely again ,Well
that was sunday ,now here it is made over.opps forgot the before pic,.I was so focused on the make over

Lacey Pancakes

For those for you who know me well ,there s not much in the way of wild life that fazes me. You know spiders snakes ...you can you see where I going? Those fury things with pink noses, send shivers though me .Yesterday I got word that they ed been in Van der glam .My lovely dolies that I had lined the wall with ,had been eaten .I stuck them to the wall with flower and water and then painted over them.Those sneeky things thought they were lacey pancakes .GRRRRRRRRRR A big thankyou to my lovely inlaws for sorting out the mess over there in Swansea ..

Update

A litte up date on how its looking around here. A little thrifty decorating tip, if you what to get that nordic ice fishing hut style with out skining the wild beasts. Take a woolen under blanket, you know the ones that are on your bed, you can get them at your local op shop. Cut it into the shape of an animal hide give it a whirl though the washing machine, to fluff up the edges. You could even dye it if you wanted.

Brass bed

The brass bed was being thrown out,all it needed was a bit of a clean and to be put back together. Once I had done that, I added afew older style pieces to give the room a vintage look. Have a great day. Jox

Rocker

A rocker, something I ve wanted for a while .There it was, a side walk treasure! Next to a dumpster .I got there just at the right time . A white wash of paint and its ready for rocking in the living room . Its been a while between posts. I've been slack with posting, I will try to get back to it . There are projects , I d love to show you. I've been busy with all sorts of things. One of which is exercise.Ive been getting up in the dark, doing boot camp with a lovely bunch of ladies . That I wont be showing on the blog :-) JO x

Life around Camp van der glam

Some pics of life around Camp van der Glam. We had Christmas and new year festivities with family, friends food, wine, dance and a whole lot of fun. The annex I made also turned out to be bonus, giving us extra space for a dinning table (that I made days before Christmas dinner) and a lounge sitting area.

At camp van der Glam

Some would say its trashed - take it to the tip !!!!.What you paid money for that ??!!! Not me - to me, it screamed renovator's delight!!!! I couldn't wait to do her up. Luck was on my side, plus some planning too.
The week I got her, we had hard rubbish in our neighbourhood. Out came all the unwanted stuff, straight on to the nature strip (sidewalk).  All around the neighbourhood there were finds to be had for the renovation.

Van der Glam

My little baby is ready for her voyage to Swansea in Tasmania after spending the last 2 months giving her the full makeover treatment. She was all glam'ed up and stocked with goodies. It was so exciting for me and master 4yo. Hubby was just hoping (as was I) for no incidents. We drove her to Port Melbourne and onto the Spirt of Tasmainia ferry for an over-night Bass Straight crossing to Devonport. From there we had a 4 hr drive to Swansea - up and down the hills we went. WHOOOHOOO -  my 1974 Capricorn caravan was dancing like a swan landing on Moulting Lagoon.

The long long long Trailer

Have you seen the Movie "The long long trailer?".With lucille ball and desi arnes. Last night we watched it in Van der glam. What a laugh we had .If you love a laugh, gorgeous clothes and caravans, you will love this movie -  we did .Thanks to Claire for reminding me of this movie.

Fine Dining

New dining area. Some days I get a little idea and get side tracked from van der Glam.
Chatting to a lovely friend Faye about decorating - a passion we both share. I mentioned I would love to make a dining table from and old door and an old sewing machine. Funny you should say that, says Faye, I have one you can have. REALLY? I couldnt believe it - an old tredle singer and it's gorgeous. A coating of white wash and and old door the assortment of chairs I had but I reckon my singer sewing dining table brings them together.
The night these pics were taken, I had a chef cook my dinner. She does look a little like Nigella - could it be??? cIt sure was yummy.
