My Starchy Dollies

Here are my dollies. I've been playing with starch, PVA glue and white paint. I saw this idea in a gallery and thought I'd give it a go. I have to tell you though, they have been moved around the room a lot. I was chatting today with my mother in-law. She also loves changing things around in the house. She said it would be fun to have a web cam in the house and watch it after a week on fast forward. I reckon it could be a real laugh watching things change color, change spots, messes coming and going.
OK - got to go - I have a mess to clean. I've been upholstering a chair in the middle of the kitchen.

As I mentioned in my last post, I went into a felting frenzy about this time last year. I made felty egg warmers and I now have 6.  Then I broke 2 egg cups and now there's only 4 to show here (I did the math).
Oopsy, have a great day !!

All rugged up

Last winter I had a felting frenzy. I was felting all sorts of things. It was the first time and what fun I had. I also got into knitting on huge needles with polar-fleece cut into strips. I created a throw for the couch and a door mat in these pics.
Today I got them out of the cupboard to create the old winter feel again.

Mummy Cuckoo

I really have to tell you a story with this .
Once upon a time there was a little boy who was about a year and a half.
He was in Holland with his mummy and daddy.
Where they where staying in the country, there was a cuckoo bird in the trees.
When this mummy took him for walks, the little boy could hear the cuckoo bird.
His mummy told him all about it.
So you wouldnt believe it but the little boys first words were "mummy, cuckoo"!!
His mummy was delighted.

This cuckoo clock is chrocheted with all sorts of colored wool, cardboard (to keep its shape) and a little clock. Mr. (now 3) is very proud of it and one day, I can tell him about his first words ...

Sweet Cherry's Beads

Here I want to show you some gorgeous beads, made by a wonderful lady, Cherry Andrews. These beads are glass and Cherry makes all sorts of wonderful ones and puts them together to make all types of jewelery. I was lucky enough to get this beautiful necklace as a gift.
She does take orders and I will post her website when it is finished.  I can put you in touch with her - just comment below or email me.

Flutter Flutter

Take one pair of ordinary shoes and add some butterflies. I made these from odds and ends of fabric and sewed them up on the machine then hot-glue on some hair clips.
These can also be worn in your hair or as a brooch.
Hope you are having a great day!

Tweet Tweet

There it was! On a little walk with my 3 year old son, we came across an old bird cage kindly "community donated" on the nature strip. Hmmm, I thought, this needs to come home. I didnt want to take it on our walk so I had to convince our little man to take it home and then continue on or walk. So after some convincing that "daddy needs it" we went home with it and went on with our walk.
With a spray of green paint (yes, I'm still in a green mood), a couple of white doves sprayed yellow to change them into canaries and its ready to hang at the front of the house.
I wonder if the neighbours recognize it?

Going, Going... GREEN!

I was feeling in a green mood. In fact I dont think this chandlier is the end of it. I'm wearing green, which happens to been one of my most flattering colours, I think.

I mixed some white and green paint to get the right color green and painted away. I put some of the crystal jewels back on that I just happened to have in the shed and parts from an old, beaded door screen.

I turned the shed inside-out to find that beaded screen! Then I cleaned up some strands and just draped them over .

What can I find next to do green?!

Have a great day,
Jo
