HIgh tea

Behind the yellow gates it was time for High Tea. What fun we had - 4 queen size sheets sewn up and made into a canopy - my Mr Handy Hubby helped out to set it up. I borrowed all the royal tea sets from gorgeous friends and made paper pomps with the help of a great friend Mariska, turning the house behind yellow gates into a wonderland for a tea party. (Well not just tea, some bubbles as well).

Today has been one of sheer happiness tinged with shock and sorrow. I started my day opening the fridge - my gorgeouse son said, "What's that mummy?" - I said, "A cake for Mariska's birthday party" - "OH FANTASTIC!" he said, which put a real smile on my face. That celebration was great !!!!!!!
The sorrow shock was a death in my circle, but I wont go into that. The cake really is like just like today - I have to say it looked wonderful and was loved; however the cake inside the decoration was a bit of a chocolate brick. It didnt rise. So I need to get my baking in order!
Happy Birthday Mariska

Okay, today I was thinking that we do all this stuff in a back yard thats 25 sq meters.
It's a resting, chatting, coffee area. A play in the sand pit area with paddle pool - Mummy's feet like it too!  A hang out the wash area, and jazz-it-up furniture area, somewhere to put Mummy's bike, BBQ area and a cockerspaniel-in-the-sun Winnie area. This all happened today; now its a barmy night, the mossie coils are on and and the crazyness of the 25 sq meters is over. It's a truly peaceful place inside, lit in fairy lights .
Night-night all from my 25 sq meters

turning japanese

Happy New year to all. I've been a bit slack on the blog front but have been busy otherwise.
So have lots more to blog .
This is a hand bag I made a few weeks ago. I was off to a japaness restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday so thought, OK, Japanese bag . The fabric I was given by another lovely friend some time ago - it's beautiful japanese silk. I stiched it to a hand bag clasp and as a handle a black beaded necklace and off I went.
